The Mt Kenya volcanic highlands in Africa are renowned for growing the best coffee in the world, we source our Kenyan AA coffee beans from small scale farmers who form a cooperative society in the very high altitudes bordering the Mt Kenya forest reserve. Most of these farmers grow Kenyan coffee beans of the SL28 and Batian Arabica variety. These are carefully selected for quality and medium roasted to accentuate the beans natural flavors instead of dark roasting.
This coffee from Kenya is certified by Rainforest Alliance as ethically sourced. We work on a bottom up transparent price model where the farmer is guaranteed a specific price per year. We also help the farmers with agronomy and processing knowledge for sustainability.
We are also environmentally conscientious and hence, we have packed this coffee in a 100% recyclable tin with a one way valve.
All the AA grade whole bean coffee selected for this blend have a cup score of 88% points and above. Expect a smooth, juicy, sweet cup with hints of blackcurrants and grapefruit, citric acidity and floral aromas.
Preparation
When properly brewed, this coffee is laden with sweetness that makes honey jealous! For best results use the filter brewing method, grind 15g of beans to medium level and use 8.5 fl oz (250ml) of clean water. Filtered water is ideal but avoid mineral water or distilled water. Note, after brewing you should never reheat your coffee.
Grind
Match your grind to your brewing style, coarse for french press, medium for for filter or pour over method, extra fine for espresso method.
Storage
Always replace the lid after use, this Kenyan whole bean coffee is packed in an airtight tin/container that will help keep your coffee beans fresh after opening. Store in a cool dry place and do not refrigerate your coffee.
